What will you be doing?
SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
The Global Projects Centre East is Subsea 7's centre of excellence for the execution of its projects. Within GPC Engineering Function, Design & Analysis Group, "Risers, Installation Analyses and Umbilical" (RIAU) department is currently looking for Senior Engineer specialized in Cable/ Flexible installation analysis along with Naval hydrodynamic analysis.
Successful candidate will also contribute to the development of discipline through various work on Technology development, Workstream and / or continuous improvements initiatives.
Your main responsibilities for this role will be:
• Perform various Hydrodynamic Analyses for:
o Subsea 7 Vessels, Cargo Barges including generation of displacement RAO and exporting to another software version (e.g. into OrcaFlex), as well as generation of Load RAO and Sea State RAO.
o Offshore Wind Floater, Floating Energy Buoy
o Technology development and research projects
o Berthing of Subsea 7 vessels along quay side
o Perform Mooring analysis for temporary and permanent mooring.
o Assist Project engineers with anchor pattern preparation.
• Manage the overall installation analysis scope package for Project or Tender, which includes.
o Coordinate a team of analysis engineers to meet required engineering works, optimisation, workload, schedule etc.
o Understand project/client expectations and gather applicable past lessons learnt.
o Prepare discipline engineering design basis, philosophies, technical specifications, and design reports as required.
o Perform and review the OrcaFlex analysis confirming it adheres with the agreed design brief and basis. Ensure that QA/QC process is correctly followed in the team.
o Manage relevant project Interface and ensure alignment with other design engineering departments, Installation Method Engineers, Engineering Managers, and Flexible / Umbilical Engineers.
o Organize a regular meeting with the analysis team and maintain the action register. Issue regular reporting including document progress, resource mobilization planning, manhour tracking, and ensure technical changes with respect to the base scope are tracked properly.
o Attend project review meetings, vendor meetings and engineering meetings organised by other disciplines.
o Identity the required project interfaces and agree on a schedule and resource plan with department managers.
• Support various Internal Engineering Improvements initiatives such as:
o Develop tools, guidelines, and templates.
o Develop Training Material and Supervise Trainees and Junior members of the team.
What experience would we like you to have?
PERSON SPECIFICATION
• Ability to participate in the interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, client and suppliers.
• Demonstrable ability to work within time/budget constraints.
• Ability to guide and Mentor graduates and junior engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical / Structural / Civil / Hydrodynamic engineering. Master’s degree or PhD preferred,
• More than 8 years of working experience in similar Naval and installation analysis scope preferably for Saudi Aramco Projects.
• Strong working knowledge of design techniques and installation analysis, Naval analysis in OrcaFlex and Moses, with an understanding of applicable standard codes (e.g. DNVGL-ST-N001, API RP 2SK).
• Offshore Installation Experience is a plus.
• Python Knowledge is a plus.
• Optimoor Software Experience is a plus.
Working Condition
• Majority of the work is carried out in the regional main office site – Dubai
• Offshore / Off-site location during project Execution phase as required.
