What will you be doing?

The Deputy Marine Base Manager is based in the Filyos Marine Base (FMB) in Turkey. They are the Deputy to the Marine Base Manager, who oversees the day-to-day support activities to the offshore construction and marine spread assigned to project(s).

The role of Deputy Marine Base Manager is carried out using regional Subsea 7 organisation, in-place in the country of Operations.

 

The Deputy Marine Base Manager is supported by local team provided either by GPC East Organization or using Regional Subsea 7 Organization. With this team, the Deputy Marine Base Manager will support Projects like a services provider.

 

Being the key point of contact for all Operations support to the project (s), The Deputy Marine Base Manager must ensure that all aspects of Security, Safety, Health and quality are applied on all operational activities under their responsibility.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow-up and assistance in organizing the internal Safety / Security Policy. Ensure that the skill and behavior of the employees provided for our internal business is in adequacy with the work to be done, on site. Ensure local in-country cultures is well understood by all out-of-Country People working on site.
  • Assist to the implementation in the Country of operations, of the Group procedures and verify their applications for the entire scope, the In-Country Marine Base Manager is in charge. A specific focus shall be done on Ethic and Compliance.
  • Assist the Projects Operations Manager for preparation & readiness of the Onshore Logistic support in-Country.
  • Assist the Projects Operations Manager for budgeting, planning, monitoring, reporting and cost control of the in-country Operations and Logistic support of the project.
  • Safely execute the operations locally, ensuring that necessary logistic support is provided and implemented.
  • Manage the projects’ Operations and logistic support team, based at the worksite.
  • Review and implement locally, mobilization plans, vessels compliance reports & equipment Inspection sheets, as required
  • Look ahead, planning of the day-to-day activities related to the project’s operations and logistics, under instruction of the project operations manager.
  • Inform & report to the Project’s Operations Manager whenever a change is likely to impact the project’s operations.
  • Manage, instruct & co-ordinate the SCM and logistic support activities, (freight forwarding, shipping, OPL), through Subsea 7 in-Country entity and Project Organizations.

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Graduated with a Civil / Marine Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • 15 years minimum experience in oil and Gas Business dealing with Projects and Offshore Construction Operations, both in Office and in-Country.
  • Has held similar position for subsea construction work in remote area, supporting large operation worksite, with large marine offshore fleet.
  • Proven ability to solve operational problems without supervision and deliver effective results to internal clients.
  • Contribute to creating and managing a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7, providing safety leadership and championing Subsea 7's critical safety behaviours.
  • Strong sense of accountability.
  • Strong organizational capacities.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with knowledge and ability to manage cultural difference & language barrier.
  • Fluent in English.
