What will you be doing?

 

The Product Management Teams support our Regions and Pipeline Group with the delivery of effective technical and commercial project solutions and drive value for Subsea7 and our clients by finding the appropriate balance between innovation and standardisation.

 

Working closely with project managers and engineers, we develop and provide products for implementation on projects and are responsible for driving product industrialisation and supporting early engagement studies through our Field Development Group.

 

Our Internal Corrosion Management (ICM) Product Team provide specialised knowledge and understanding of the development, implementation and performance of Subsea7’s internal corrosion management products. 

 

As Principal Engineer you will act as a focal point for all CRA (Corrosion Resistance Alloys) ICM Product Team activities.

 

Key responsibilities are to identify and deliver product improvements, efficiency gains and eliminate instances of product associated cost of loss.  Also, to provide product input and guidance to key stakeholders through all commercial project phases; from early engagement through to project execution and beyond.

 

Applicants should have a good understanding of pipe manufacturing processes, pipeline fabrication and installation methods along with significant theoretical and practical understanding of CRA materials and associated pipeline solutions. 

 

Based in Old Kilpatrick, other Subsea7 European locations may be considered.

 

  • Provide key technical product information (including product design and operational envelopes) and ensure accuracy and alignment amongst key internal stakeholders.
  • Provide technical and commercially appropriate product recommendations and guidance to key stakeholders in support of project win strategies and early engagement.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the Community of Experts including development of technical standards, specifications etc.
  • Provide technical support to SCM regarding suppliers of CRA pipeline products, including market assessments, leading qualification activities and facilitating discussions around product schedule, quality, cost etc.
  • Ensure new products are developed, and introduced to the market, in line with Company processes and product strategy.
  • Develop and maintain the CRA product input to the ICM product roadmap.
  • Maintain SWOT analysis of the CRA products and utilise the information contained within to influence the product roadmap.
  • Collate commercial project information to create and distribute product track records.
  • Maintain awareness of changes or challenges that may influence CRA pipeline products (Internal and external to the Company).
  • Maintain product stakeholder maps and ensure appropriate awareness and communications are maintained throughout this network.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure product risks and lessons learned are understood and actioned; whether the source is technical, supply chain or commercial based.
  • Develop and utilise presentation materials for internal/external meetings.
  • Develop own learning through internal / external methods and opportunities.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory change, technological advancements and product developments.
     

What experience would we like you to have?

 

  • Degree Qualified in relevant subject (ideally Materials - Metallurgy based).
  • Thorough understanding of pipe manufacturing processes, fabrication and installation methods.
  • Significant theoretical and practical understanding of CRA materials and associated pipeline solutions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the business. Ability to create and deliver reports and presentations.
  • Effective analytical skills, applies creative problem solving, will suggest and develop new methods and ways of working.
  • A collaborative worker who builds effective relationships across a highly diverse global business.
  • Self-motivated, takes ownership of responsibilities and works with minimum supervision, while also contributing to the wider team activities.
