What will you be doing?

Subsea7 are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Pipeline Group (PG) based in the Old Kilpatrick, Glasgow office on a full-time, permanent basis.  

 

The Quality Engineer will report directly to the PG HSEQ Manager and provide direct guidance, support, and advice with regards to the use of professional Quality tools, principles and strategies to PG projects and support rigid pipeline site quality readiness and performance.

 

The chosen candidate will support project quality requirements through effective planning and be the focal point for all quality matters on each project assigned by the HSEQ and Quality Portfolio Manager as required.

 

Continually develop, maintain, and refine project quality plans and activities through effective participation in project meetings and liaising with project managers, PG technical discipline engineers, workshop and site supervision etc.

 

What will your responsibilities involve?

 

  • Review client and international pipeline fabrication specifications and standards (including DNV-ST-F101, API 1104, SA Schedule Q) as well as generating and adhering to inspection and test plans
  • Attend project planning meetings updating any changes to Q/QC requirements on the mobilisation matrix (increased / decreased inspection requirements)
  • Schedule and conduct internal and external audits and verifications
  • Construct and monitor project generated procedures and ensure the implementation of the Subsea7 Business Management Systems on the project
  • Monitor product and service quality on each assigned project at suppliers and sub-contractor facilities in line with project deliverables
  • Participate in the non-conforming review (NCR) process including reporting of NCRs (internal, Supplier and Subcontractor), identifying corrective and preventative measures and facilitating NCR close-out
  • Participate in root cause analysis investigations for any Internal Quality Failures (IQF’s) or Supplier Performance Issues (SPI’s)

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role and understanding of global personal certification requirements for Inspection services, ideally within a rigid pipeline, subsea & offshore industry or an engineering or fabrication environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and as a minimum a certified internal auditor.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and understanding of contract quality requirements to ensure that the appropriate and correct level of quality is applied during the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement through NCR analysis and trending, knowledge management, and Risk Management.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively establish relationships and communicate across all levels of stakeholders both internal and external.
  • You will have good report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work, as well as the ability prioritise and organise your work accordingly to meet deadlines set by management.
  • Have experience of resource planning, data input and be proficient in the use of Microsoft office package specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and power BI.
  • This role may involve short spells of overseas travel, so candidates may need to show a willingness and readiness to travel.
