Overview

Subsea7 is delighted to offer an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join our GPC East Finance Team. This role is based in our Istanbul, Türkiye office and is ideal for a meticulous finance professional looking to make an impact within a global business. You will report directly to the Finance Manager.

What will you be doing?

  • Ensure continuous compliance with all Finance policies, processes and procedures and promote best practice
  • Able to prepare Tax Declarations (VAT1, VAT2, Withholding Tax, etc.)
  • Postings in the accounting system, SAP S4 Hana.
  • Month end / Half year / End year closing: Balance sheet control, provisions follow up, costs allocation, accuracy of the analytical information, load data into the consolidation systems, report to the group in IFRS,
  • Responsible for accounting processes and tasks (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Intercompany Transactions, Account reconciliation, Open Item Management)
    • Perform month end closing functions (i.e. Accruals, month end closing schedules, consolidation packages)
    • Liaise with respective stakeholders and assist in the preparation, posting and clearing of Accounts Receivable invoices.
    • Liaise with Corporate Finance team for bank matters.
    • Maintain AP Aging reports and coordinate with Suppliers, Accounts Payable and Treasury teams to clear any overdue invoices.
  • Prepare monthly forecast and annual budgets reporting slides and variance analysis
  • Provide support / guidance to cost control teams on project reconciliation matters.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external parties like external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, banks where required
  • Produce analyses of various performance indicators required by internal management and shareholders
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Utilizes the knowledge management tools available to assist Finance to capitalize upon lessons learned and to perform in accordance with best practice, striving to mitigate risk, promoting safety and integrity consistently
  • Any other ad-hoc assignments as required.

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience as an Accountant.
  • Proficient IT skills with advanced MS Office knowledge. Experience using SAP would be beneficial.
  • Certified Public Accountant / CPA İntern experience is beneficial
  • Fluency in both Turkish and English is essential, while proficiency in French would be considered advantageous.
  • Practical working knowledge of local labor laws and regulations.
  • Self-motivated and inquisitive. Willingness to understand the decision drivers, question the business, and process data inputs.
  • Analytical and Problem-solving skills. 
  • Meticulous and organized.
  • Well-developed Communication and Interpersonal skills.
