Title: Contracts Specialist

What will you be doing?
The Contracts Engineer/Specialist will be responsible to support the Senior Contracts Specialist or Contracts Manager primarily in change and subcontract management matters relating to the Main Contract with Subsea7 Clients and Consortium (if applicable).
The Contracts Engineer/Specialist reports day-to-day to the Senior Contracts Engineer/Specialist or Senior/Contracts Manager (If applicable) and functionally to the AME Head of Contracts.
The position is based in Turkiye within an office environment. However, candidates may be required to undertake ad-hoc site visits to other Subsea7 locations, or to Client, Partner or Subcontractors in the AME region or other locations.
Main Contract duties and responsibilities:
- Uphold and maintain Subsea7 core values: Safety, Integrity, Sustainability, Performance, Collaboration, and Innovation.
- Preparation of an in-depth analysis of the Main Contract terms and conditions and identification of Subsea7 obligations and potential risks and opportunities.
- Assist in the compilation for dissemination of said analysis to project team, regional and group legal and contract’s function and regional business unit management via Contract awareness sessions to the project team (onshore and offshore).
- When required prepare “flow down” of Main Contract terms and conditions for inclusion in Subcontracts.
- Support and advise project Supply Chain Specialist regarding negotiation of Subcontract. contractual/commercial terms and conditions under the guidance and supervision of the Project Contracts Lead. During execution of subcontracts liaise with Supply Chain Specialist to ensure that Variations rechargeable to Client are captured.
- Assist in the arrangement and administration of all project bonds, guarantees and insurances in accordance with Main Contract obligations.
- Participation in both internal and external project meetings dealing with contractual /commercial issues.
- Ensure that rigorous standards are set and maintained in terms of quality of project correspondence and associated action tracking.
- Monitor key Contractor, Subcontractors and Client deliverables as well as identification of risks.
- Proactively assist in managing the Variation process with Client with a view to maximising opportunity for positive project upside.
- Active participation in project risk review sessions.
- Familiarize and ensure compliance with all relevant Subsea7 processes and procedures as set out in the New Starter Checklist and BMS: Internal VOR approvals and compliance with Subsea7 financial authority levels, Completion and Project Close-out activities, ensuring receipt of Completion Certificates from the Client, settlement of final accounts with the Client and subcontractors.
What experience would we like you to have?
- Candidates should be educated to degree level in a Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law (LLM/LLB)/, Project Management, or similar business discipline. Other recognised qualifications may be acceptable if combined with extensive relevant experience.
- Relevant previous industry experience is essential with a minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in the subsea sector is preferable. Previous experience/involvement in subcontract management support will be a distinct advantage.
- General skills and knowledge base in the field of Contracts /Legal/Commercial is a distinct advantage.
- Experience of operating within an international arena would be a distinct advantage.
- A strong and relevant understanding of the technical requirements required for transportation and installation of offshore operations for both SURF and Conventional work scopes.
- Fluent in written and spoken Turkish and high standard of written and spoken English is essential for this role.
- Competency in Microsoft Office is essential.
