What will you be doing?

 

Subsea7 is hiring a Project Cost Controller (Project Accountant) to join us in our Istanbul office.

This will be a full-time, staff role and is a great opportunity to develop your accounting experience within the business. This role will work closely with the local project management team and Senior Cost Controller who is based in UK.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

As a key member of the project team the Project Cost Controller ensures accurate, timely and value-added analysis and reporting on a project.

The role contributes to the effective running of projects and compromises responsibility for but not limited to cost performance status reporting.

 

  • Ensure understanding of the project contract and scope
  • Develop a common understanding by the budget holders of the tender budget
  • Prepare, establish and maintain the Cost Work Breakdown Structure
  • Establish, communicate and maintain processes and routines required for effective control and reporting during the project lifecycle with consideration of financial and other compliance legislation. To include checklists to ensure delivery to timetable.
  • Provide project managers with advice and support in financially managing their projects.
  • Responsibility for all aspects of cost control of assigned projects including actual and forecasting analysis including commitment tracking of man hours, procurement activities and vessel operations.
  • Ensure that SAP accurately reflects project costs and revenues to date, including any accruals or prepayments at month end.
  • Assist the project managers in the preparation of monthly revenue, cost and profit forecasts for assigned projects including sensitivities.
  • Analyse variances from as-bid financials by building a detailed monthly analysis of variances from prior forecast.
  • Prepare the customer cost reporting package as dictated by the contract
  • Prepare project cash flows in support of the group's treasury requirements for cash flow forecasting.
  • Develop effective interfaces with all project functions and contribute to improvement programs; build/enhance relationships with Project Managers and Head Office to ensure communication and flow of information is effective; work with project managers to develop and improve reporting tools/systems and make recommendations to improve/enhance existing processes.

Required Experience

  • Fluent in written and oral English and Turkish
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant Business or Finance
  • Previous experience working on EPC projects
  • Previous experience in a Project Accounting or Cost Control role.
  • Possess a recognised accounting body qualification and good level of awareness around relevant accounting standards.
  • Proficient IT knowledge including SAP and advanced Excel skills.
  • Good communication, planning and leadership skills, as well as a commitment to continued growth and development.
