Subsea7 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Fabrication Engineer to support the successful delivery of offshore and subsea projects in Indonesia. Acting as the key technical interface between the fabrication yard, project office, client, and engineering disciplines, you will play a critical role in ensuring fabrication, testing, and loadout activities are planned and executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing technical and operational interfaces, driving effective communication between stakeholders, and ensuring all fabrication activities comply with client specifications and approved project procedures. You will provide hands-on support to resolve fabrication challenges, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the successful execution and delivery of complex project scopes.


What will you be doing? 

General

  • Lead the Project Fabrication Site Team
  • Attend and participate in site Kick Off, Readiness Review, and regularly occurring meetings.
  • Input as required to any daily, weekly and monthly reports.

 

HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, Environment)

  • Promote Subsea 7 HSSE culture throughout all phases of the fabrication works.
  • Ensure suitable HSSE practice is applied during the preparation and planning of fabrication works.
  • Monitor the work during execution to ensure HSSE compliance with agreed systems and processes.
  • Participate in all Project HIRA meetings being conducted at the fabrication site.
  • With support of Project HSE, ensure satisfactory close out of any engineering related actions from the HIRA’s.
  • Attend weekly site walkabouts and HSSE meetings.
  • Stop any work that is deemed to be unsafe.

 

Engineering

  • Ensure approved engineering deliverables, procedures and specifications are communicated, understood and implemented by the fabrication yard.
  • Engage structural and piping design engineers, welding engineer and materials and coating engineers to resolved technical issues.
  • Resolve all materials and engineering issues arising on site, including delivery dates.
  • Ensure Management of Change is strictly and effectively followed, via all processes including TQ’s, deviations and design drawing revisions.
  • Verify that all work has been completed in accordance with the approved project procedures and specifications.
  • Co-ordinate, and manage all factory and site integration testing is completed and verified by required parties.
  • Review and required lift plans and movement method statements.
  • Seek appropriate engineering support from Project Team where necessary.

 

Planning

  • Ensure the fabrication schedule aligns with project requirements for float and loadout dates.
  • Implement mitigation and recovery actions to prevent schedule slippage.
  • Monitor the site schedule and verify, on a weekly basis, that the progress is a fair and accurate assessment of the work completed within the period.
  • Provide all schedule information required by the project planner in the Project Office.
  • Co-ordinate vessel arrival, loadout requirements and vessel turnaround times and sail away dates.
  • In conjunction with the Project SCM Lead, organise a robust system for site instructions, time sheet recording and approval for any reimbursable type works.

 

Quality

  • Alert site QC representatives about any QA /QC issues occurring, advise Project Management.
  • Support the Site QC Team and Project Quality Advisor in resolving QA/QC issues and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Manage the Punchlist process to ensure all items and snagging list are complete prior to sign off of the completion certification.
  • Support the documentation and certification compilation review and completion.

 

What experience would we like you to have? 

  • At least 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry.
  • Relevant experience in heavy steel / piping / jumper fabrication and remote worksites.
  • At least 5 years’ experience of fabrication processes, materials, testing and coating processes.
  • Detailed knowledge and application of fabrication codes and standards.
  • Relevant knowledge of Microsoft Project and Fabrication Scheduling.
  • Motivated and committed to work with changing priorities and fluid environment.
  • Execution focused with effective decision-making skills and leadership.
  • Effective communication & organisational skills.
