Title: Communications Advisor

OVERVIEW
The Communications Advisor plays a key role in bringing to life the GPC East Communications Strategy across Asia Pacific and Türkiye, enhancing engagement, alignment, project visibility, leadership communication and organisational readiness for change.
The role partners with Group, Regional communications teams, BU Directors and Project teams to maintain aligned messaging, consistent branding, and active engagement internally and externally. The Advisor will also be a core contributor in crisis and emergency response communications.
Please note that this is a short-term contract position.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT
- Act as a trusted communications advisor for the geographic market, supporting leadership on strategic priorities, stakeholder engagement and narrative development.
- Translate the regional communication strategy into actionable plans for the zone of responsibility, ensuring alignment with business objectives and leadership direction.
- Develop high quality messaging and written content for leadership, regional updates, strategic announcements and cross functional initiatives.
- Provide strategic communication support to the Vice President for internal and external engagements, including messaging preparation, briefing notes and event positioning.
- Ensure all communications follow company brand, tone, strategy and approval protocols, coordinating with Region and Group Communications as needed.
INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS & ENGAGEMENT
- Develop and implement the internal communications strategy for the geographic market, aligned with regional and corporate objectives to engage employees, enhance company culture, and accomplish business objectives.
- Develop clear, timely, and engaging communication materials across channels (emails, newsletters, SharePoint, Viva Engage, town halls, leadership messages), ensuring consistent tone of voice and messaging across the channels.
- Support HR and functional teams with communication materials that prompt action, clarify priorities, explain changes, and reinforce behaviours.
- Coordinate and deliver employee engagement initiatives and campaigns that boost pride, sense of belonging, wellbeing, and culture.
- Manage local communication needs for offices, functional projects.
PROJECT COMMUNICATIONS
Internal project communications:
- Develop and implement communication plans for the projects across the full project cycle.
- Tell project stories (milestones, vessel updates, operational achievements, safety learnings, people stories). Ensure project updates enhance engagement, belonging, and pride across the region.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to gain advance insight into upcoming milestones, operational tasks, and content possibilities.
- Capture raw content (photos, videos, interviews) and deliver production in-house or with the help of the external agency.
External and client facing communications:
- Produce external facing content such as PRs, presentations, brochures, speeches, videos, animations, social media materials and digital content aligned with corporate guidelines.
- Manage external media and public facing communications in close alignment with Regional and Group Communications, ensuring accuracy, brand consistency and compliance.
- Support Subsea7’s presence at conferences, exhibitions and industry events by preparing content, coordinating materials and enabling leadership visibility in line with S&M strategy.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE & CRISIS COMMUNICATIONS
- Act as communications lead during crisis and ER situations.
- Deliver timely, accurate, aligned communications following Global ER processes.
- Coordinate with internal teams, Corporate Comms, client representatives, and authorities where required.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Communications, Journalism, PR, Marketing or related field.
- 10+ years’ experience in internal/external corporate communications.
- Skilled in writing, editing, storytelling and content creation.
- Experience managing crisis communication and emergency response.
- Solid planning and project management capability.
- Comfortable working with senior leaders and cross regional teams.
- Experience in the energy or engineering sector preferred.
- Fluent English (Advanced level = C2); additional languages.
- Experience working within large multinational organisations.
- Travel required to support key stakeholders, events, and project engagements.
