Title:  Principal Analysis Engineer (Subsea Pipelines)

Join our team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as Principal Analysis Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis and take a leading role in delivering exciting, complex, and truly global subsea projects, solving challenging engineering problems that shape major offshore developments worldwide. As a Principal Engineer, you’ll be valued for your in-depth technical knowledge and your ability to ensure high-quality project delivery that supports strong business performance. You will oversee engineers and project scopes, providing guidance, oversight, and technical leadership across rigid pipeline installation analysis for live projects, FEED studies, and tender activities.

 

Pipeline Group (PG) are responsible for delivering fit for purpose rigid pipeline installation methods and analysis to projects and tenders with specific focus on safe and cost-effective installation operations

What will you be doing?

  • Perform in autonomy installation analysis of rigid pipeline in S-lay, J-lay and/or Reel-lay and be accountable for you, and in some cases depending on level a teams, scope of work
  • Responsible for ensuring that standard of engineering services provided complies with relevant company engineering standards with a clear focus on commerciality of engineering solutions.
  • Perform installation analysis of rigid pipeline methodologies in S-lay, J-lay and/or Reel-lay and be accountable for your own and a teams, scopes of work.
  • Mentor and support engineers developing their skills and career progression.
  • Ensure installation analysis solutions are fit for purpose and comply with relevant company engineering standards. Maintaining a clear focus on the commerciality of the engineering solutions all while meeting client specifications.
  • Provide occasional on site engineering support during operational periods either at fabrication yards onshore or offshore on vessels.  
  • Demonstrate commitment to the safety culture and associated initiatives to the installation engineering team throughout the onshore and offshore delivery phases.
  • Contribute to the know-how consolidation and support the innovation of Pipeline Group, always looking for ways to improve how we operate and reduce risks and costs.

What would we like you to have?

  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or similar subject
  • Demonstrable relevant experience within Analysis Engineering in the subsea or oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrable experience or practical knowledge of subsea pipelay systems
  • Experience of leading teams and project scopes
  • Proficient with Orcaflex and familiarity with systems such as Python, VBA and Abaqus
  • Good communication skills with ability to speak with all levels within the business.  Comfortable working individually and as part of a team.
  • Skilled in report writing with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work, as well as the ability to prioritise and organise work accordingly to meet deadlines set by management.
