Overview

We are looking for a motivated Senior Quality Advisor to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, on a permanent basis.

 

The Senior Quality Advisor, acting as Project Quality Manager (PQM), has overall responsibility for the management of all QA and QC activities within assigned project, personnel, and quality deliverables on the project.

 

The role ensures that all project activities comply with contractual requirements, company standards, international codes, and applicable regulations, while establishing and maintaining an effective Project Quality Management System (QMS).

 

The Senior Quality Advisor is accountable for promoting a strong quality culture, ensuring adequate resourcing, and providing assurance that quality-related risks are effectively identified and managed throughout the project lifecycle.

What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

 

  • Lead and manage all project quality activities across engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation phases
  • Establish, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management System (QMS) and Contract Quality Plan
  • Ensure full compliance with contract requirements, applicable standards, and Subsea7 BMS
  • Act as primary quality focal point for Client interface
  • Develop and implement:
    • Project Quality Plan (PQP)
    • Audit Programme and Assurance Strategy
    • Inspection & Test strategy (ITPs, verification activities)
  • Provide specialist quality support to discipline and package engineers to ensure compliance in engineering deliverables
  • Manage suppliers, subcontractors, and contractors to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined, understood, and fulfilled
  • Review and approve supplier quality plans and documentation
  • Develop and implement project audit programme, ensuring findings are tracked and closed effectively
  • Ensure implementation of risk-based assurance and verification activities
  • Ensure all Non-Conformities (NCRs) are:
    • Identified and recorded
    • Investigated with root cause analysis
    • Closed with effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Monitor and report quality performance, KPIs, and risks, identifying potential impacts to project delivery
  • Ensure adequate resource allocation and competency of QA/QC personnel
  • Promote continuous improvement, lessons learned, and best practices across the project

Key Qualifications / Experience

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Quality Management, or related discipline
  • IRCA Registered Lead Auditor (ISO 9001)
  • Significant experience in QA/QC position with several years in Senior or Manager position
  • Extensive experience in Quality roles within Oil & Gas / EPCI projects
  • Extensive experience in Project Quality Manager / QAQC Manager roles
  • Demonstrated capability in managing multi-discipline project quality delivery
  • In-depth knowledge of:
    • ISO 9001 and audit processes
    • Engineering, procurement, fabrication, and offshore installation processes

 

Behavioural Skills

  • Leadership and influencing skills at project and senior stakeholder level
  • Effective communication and client engagement capability
  • Methodical thinking and structured problem-solving (e.g. NCR / RCA)
  • Risk-based decision making
  • Promote compliance while supporting project delivery
