Overview
What will you be doing?
- Detailed piping design for subsea structures in accordance with acknowledged industry codes, standards, client specifications and scopes of work.
- Production of piping design reports and carrying out mechanical and integrity calculations for piping and equipment including wall thickness selection and pipework stress analysis utilizing CAESAR II.
- Provide input to, check and approve subsea structures piping tie-in general arrangement and isometric drawings
- Production of pipework and fitting specifications.
- Liaise with associated subsea related disciplines and understand the interfaces within a project.
- Interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, client and suppliers.
- Provide piping engineering assistance during occasional periods of offshore or site working.
- Provide piping engineering support to Tenders, FEED Studies and EPIC Projects.
- MTO originator and owner.
What experience would we like you to have?
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as mechanical, materials or similar.
- Experience in the design of industrial pressure piping and / or pressure equipment.
- Knowledge of relevant ASME piping design standards (ASME B31.8, ASME B31.3)
- Knowledge of subsea oil & gas industry is an advantage.
- Familiar with piping stress calculations and wall thickness selection.
- Familiarity piping analysis software (for example CAESAR II, Autopipe) is beneficial, however subsea analysis specific training will be provided to the right candidate.
- Familiarity with piping fitting standards, such as ASME B16.9, and flanges, such as ASME B16.5 or API 6A.
- Ability to read detailed design documentation such as isometric drawings and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s).
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage time and workload.
