Overview

 

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our Engineering team in Lisbon.

 

This position offers an exciting opportunity for Designers who enjoy combining technical engineering knowledge with practical design expertise. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will contribute to challenging offshore and subsea projects, gaining exposure to installation methodologies, fabrication activities, structural and mechanical design, and project execution.

 

This role is suited to an established designer who has built a solid foundation in engineering design and is looking to broaden their technical expertise, take on greater responsibility, and further develop their career within a collaborative and international project environment.

 

What will you be doing?

 

In this role you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality engineering drawings and 3D models supporting offshore and subsea projects. Working closely with engineering teams and other designers, you will develop design deliverables in accordance with company standards, project requirements, and industry best practices.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain high-quality 2D drawings and 3D models in accordance with engineering requirements, project specifications, and company procedures, delivering design solutions that support fabrication, installation, and offshore operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineers and multidisciplinary teams to translate engineering concepts into practical design deliverables.
  • Support engineering studies, technical reviews, constructability assessments, and design optimization activities.
  • Review and check drawings and models produced by other designers within your field of knowledge.

  • Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and engineering standards.
  • Coordinate with engineering and project teams to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of CAD tools, procedures, workflows, and standard deliverables.
  • Participate in lessons learned activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support and mentor junior designers, and trainees where appropriate.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant industry codes, standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration across engineering and design disciplines.
  • Contribute to technical innovation and efficiency improvements within project execution.
  • Maintain and further develop technical knowledge through continuous professional development.

 

What experience would we like you to have?

 

Essential 

  • Degree in Engineering or a technical qualification in Design Drafting with relevant industrial experience.
  • Established experience in engineering design, CAD drafting, or project engineering support.
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software.
  • Ability to interpret engineering requirements and translate them into clear, accurate drawings and models.
  • Good understanding of engineering drawings, fabrication, and assembly principles.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

 

Desirable

  • Experience in offshore, subsea, marine, energy, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Familiarity with fabrication, construction and installation drawings.
  • Knowledge of engineering design processes and quality management systems.
  • Experience with 3D modelling and clash detection.
  • Experience supporting engineering studies and technical reviews.
