Overview

We are seeking a Regional HR Transformation Manager to support the GPC East region on a temporary basis, providing critical leadership during a long‑term employee absence. Reporting to the HR Director, GPC East, this role will drive HR transformation initiatives across the region. Based in Lisbon, Portugal, the position requires approximately 50% travel. The contract will remain in place as long as operational needs require, with no predetermined end date. 

Role Purpose

The Regional HR Transformation Manager plays a pivotal role in implementing the HR transformation agenda across GPC East. Working closely with the HR Director, the role leads regional change initiatives, improves operational HR delivery, and ensures alignment between global HR strategy and local implementation.

The role provides leadership across two critical areas:

  • HR Controlling – ensuring robust headcount governance, HR cost management, and KPI-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • HR Service Center (HRSC) – overseeing and supporting the transformation and day-to-day management of the regional HR Service Center, including the consolidation of three existing units into a single, centralized HRSC.

This role requires a strategic HR leader who can guide senior stakeholders, guide teams through change, promote standardization and operational excellence, and ensure a high-quality HR service experience across all countries in the region.


What you will be doing?

Regional HR Leadership & Transformation

  • Act as a visible ambassador for the HR transformation, clearly communicating the vision, benefits, and business value across all countries.
  • Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new HR models, processes, and ways of working.
  • Ensure strong alignment between regional priorities and the global HR transformation strategy.

Oversight of HR Controlling

  • · Provide direction and oversight to the Regional HR Controller, ensuring excellence in:
    • Headcount forecasting and governance
    • HR budgeting and cost optimization
    • KPI reporting, tracking, and analysis
  • · Translate analytical insights into strategic recommendations to support HR and business decision-making.

Leadership of HRSC Transformation & Operations

  • Support and oversee the HRC Manager in managing the HRSC and executing the consolidation of three HRCs into a single regional service hub.
  • Monitor HRSC performance to ensure service quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction across countries.
  • Promote standardization, process simplification, and continuous improvement within the HRSC.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Partner regularly with senior leaders, HR Directors, HRBPs, and local HR teams to share updates, gather feedback, and ensure alignment.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the HR Director of GPC East, providing insights, recommendations, and strategic input.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop the HR Controller and HRC Manager.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance HR environment.
  • Support HR teams throughout the transformation, building capability, resilience, and adaptability.

 

What experience we would like you to have?

Essential

  • Senior HR experience in a multinational, matrix organisation.
  • Strong operational HR background across multiple countries.
  • Proven track record in HR transformation (shared services, centralisation, CoE creation, or operating model redesign).
  • Solid expertise in HR controlling, budgeting, headcount analytics, and KPI reporting.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills, capable of promoting transformation to diverse audiences.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively across the region.

 

Preferred

  • Experience leading or supporting HR Service Centers or shared services transformations.
  • Background in strategic HRBP roles.
  • Prior experience in multinational HR environments.
  • Fluency in English; additional regional languages are an asset.
