Title: Steel Structural Engineer

What will you be doing?
We are growing the Structural Engineering team in GPC Lisbon hub and therefore we are looking for a Steel Structural Engineer to work on studies, tenders and projects in a variety of EPCI and T&I jobs for the offshore energy business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform specific calculation and checking of structural design activities, such as, seafastening, installation aids and permanent structures design (ILTs, PLETs, Suction Anchors…);
- Design and detailing in accordance with acknowledged industry Codes, Standards and Design Guides (e.g. API, DNV, AISC); Client Specifications and Scopes of Work.
- Monitor the progress of own deliverables, controlling schedule, scope and budget.
- Liaise with other disciplines and understand the interfaces within a project.
- Contribute as required to events such as Bid Clarifications, Kickoff meetings, HIRAs, Design Reviews, etc.
- Be a mentor/coach for Junior Engineers.
What experience would we like you to have?
- Graduated with a M.Sc. / Ph.D. in Civil (Structural), Mechanics, Aerospace or Marine/offshore Engineering.
- Ideally with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in steel structural design activities (background in offshore energy sector is a plus but not mandatory).
- Competency in design and analysis software packages for FEA (Abaqus, Ansys…) and Beam Elements (Staad Pro, SACS or similar) is essential.
- Good knowledge of design codes (AISC, API, ABS, BV, DNV, Eurocodes…).
- Ability to prioritize own and others’ workload where constraints will affect a project in terms of deadlines or budget.
- Strong communication skills (English & Portuguese) and keen interest to work with other disciplines/departments.
