What will you be doing?

Subsea7 are looking for a Digitalisation Engineer to join the Pipeline Group (PG) at our Sutton, London office on a full-time, permanent basis.

 

In this role you will help develop and support all related initiatives taken to move PG into the digitalisation era. You will be responsible for the development of automation and digital tools with the aim to improve the ways of working of the PG Installation Engineering teams. You will work closely with the PG engineering teams alongside engineers and developers.

 

PG supports Subsea7’s pipelay projects globally and our analysis engineers play an integral part in finding solutions to complex engineering problems.  Our engineers are recognised for their expertise and can oversee specific critical subjects either on business improvement, or projects.

 

The Digitalisation Engineer will undertake a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities, however some of the expected key responsibilities however will be:

 

  • Develop, test, debug and maintain tools to automate/standardise engineering processes and activities.
  • Maintain a high level of tool development quality following Subsea7 coding guidelines, and support the improvement of ways of working.
  • Explore data collected by digitalisation tools and identify data applications.
  • Support the promotion of digitalisation activities to the PG installation engineering team, increasing awareness of tools and capabilities.

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Degree qualified Engineer or similar subject 
  • Experience and knowledge of offshore installation, ideally in subsea pipelines
  • Proficient with Orcaflex, or similar engineering software
  • Experience automating engineering analysis using the Python programming language
  • Able to demonstrate critical thinking and a positive approach to work
  • A passion for innovation and improving ways of working
  • A good level of interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively establish relationships and communicate across all levels of stakeholders both internal and external, up to the highest levels.
