Title:  ESG Reporting Lead

Subsea7 is currently recruiting for an ESG Reporting Lead to join our Sustainability Division on a permanent basis. This role can be based in Aberdeen, London, or Paris.

 

Reporting to the ESG Integrated Reporting Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and overseeing the Group’s non-financial reporting framework. They will be responsible for establishing robust data management processes and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of ESG disclosures in line with CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and other relevant external standards.

What will you be doing? 

  • Preparing a non-financial part of the annual report with the team according to CSRD requirements (currently, new standards will be added with evolving legislation)
  • Preparing the response and overlooking ESG information submission for the indexes reporting – including (but not limited to) CDP, S&P Global, Sustainalytics and others.
  • Preparing responses for the regulators (CSSF, ESMA) and auditors (for the limited-assurance part)
  • Engage with various functions to solicit information required for the reporting.
  • Work closely with Subject Matter Experts, Data Stewards and Data Owners to organize qualitative and quantitative information flow for the report.
  • Oversee the collection, validation, and analysis of ESG data to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead in automating the data flows, quantitative and qualitative points collection for reporting.
  • Be Subject Matter Expert on the data management for ESG reporting.
  • Working with IT teams to enhance and enable automation in reporting.
  • Implement existing data governance frameworks to maintain data integrity, quality and security.
  • Work closely with functional teams to improve the efficiency of the reporting.
  • Participate in external discussions in events dedicated to ESG reporting. Stay informed about emerging ESG trends and best practices, and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Sharing experience with external players (issuers) to learn and share best practices.
  • Continuous learning in the subject, new technologies and automation.

What experience would we like you to have? 

Person Specification

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, accustomed to report writing.
  • Builds and maintains strong business relationships at all levels of the business and with third party providers (e.g. Auditors).
  • Collaborative team worker who also demonstrates initiative and ownership.
  • Pro-active and solutions-based, questions and will challenge the status quo.
  • Excellent analytical skills, and an ability to work with detail and high accuracy.
  • Strong planning and organising skills, accustomed to meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet the evolving needs of a 24/7 global business.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven experience in ESG reporting, data management, and analysis. Familiarity with ESG regulatory frameworks and standards or a Quick learner
  • Qualified Accountant or qualified by experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of or first-hand experience with reporting under CSRD, EU Taxonomy frameworks.
  • Knowledge of or first-hand experience in ESG index reporting (CDP, S&P Global submissions).
  • Extensive experience in a financial, cost or project accounting role or Legal / Contractual experience.
  • Experience with Internal Control systems.
  • Experience and market knowledge on IT solutions for reporting.
