What is the role?
Subsea7 have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Pipeline Group (PG) team at either our Sutton, London or Westhill, Aberdeen office on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a level one role so we are looking for engineers who are keen to learn and develop their career in pipeline installation methods.
You will be part of a team of installation engineers, dealing with different pipeline installation methods (S&J Lay, reel lay) for a package of work on either a project or tender. You will support the efficient day-to-day running of the installation engineering team and provide regular operational reports on general project engineering activities, technical subject matters, and resource management.
What will you be doing?
- Follow your project scope from early engagement with our internal and external clients through to offshore execution on board our reel lay assets.
- Produce installation method statements and procedures, support procurement activities and subcontract follow up, proactively support HSEQ activities and prepare and deliver technical presentations.
- Installation rigging calculations and rigging design.
- Assist Tendering department with feasibility studies, method statements, manhour estimates, schedule inputs and costing support.
- Supporting installation aid procurement, fabrication and testing follow up.
- Follow your scope offshore on our installation vessels.
What experience would we like you to have?

- Degree qualified in Engineering/Marine/Naval/Offshore Technology / Civil / Mechanical or equivalent
- Experience as a project engineer, ideally in a subsea engineering field
- Good communication skills, able to speak with all levels within the business, who is comfortable working on their own and as part of a team
- Good report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work, as well as the ability prioritise and organise your work accordingly to meet deadlines set by management
- This role will involve spells of offshore trips and occasional overseas travel so candidates should be able to show a willingness and flexibility to accommodate.
