OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The Finance Manager is responsible for optimizing and sustaining financial performance. The Finance Manager oversees accounting operations, produces accurate and meaningful reports on financial performance, position and prospects, and improves current practices to maximize efficiency.
The Finance Manager is accountable for planning, coordinating and delivering all finance activities across all projects and countries within scope. The role includes responsibility for reporting Angolan joint-venture financials into the Group Reporting framework. It reports to Africa South Senior Finance Manager.
SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
- Develops and promotes a positive HSEQ culture throughout Subsea 7
- Provides strategic and financial guidance to ensure the financial objectives are met or surpassed
- Enforces all relevant policies and procedures to ensure the sound financial management and control in the scope
- Assesses, manages, and minimizes financial exposures related to projects execution or country operations
- Provides financial support and insights to enable critical business decision making
- Ensures the efficient, timely, accurate, cost-effective management and delivery of the Finance function’s activities
- Plans, organizes, manages, and continuously improves processes in accordance with Subsea 7 global ways of working
- Develops a constructive and professional relationship with all stakeholders
- Facilitates the execution of the Business Unit budget and plan by setting clear and realistic objectives for direct reports
- Provides strategic direction, leadership, supervision and mentoring to the finance team
- Supports the professional and career development of the finance team within the Business Unit
- Oversees the statutory and tax filings in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP
- Maintains full compliance with Anti Bribery laws e.g. SAPIN II, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)
- Provides overview to the monthly financial reports and insightful analysis on performance and position
- Provides financial input and guidance to Business Unit tenders
- Works with the Group Tax to minimize exposure and ensure local compliance requirements are met
- Ensure optimum cash generation and working capital in coordination with Group Treasury
- Responsible for financial controls and compliance for Angola
- Contributes to risk management and internal controls continuous improvement
- Provides strategic direction, leadership, and supervision to Joint Ventures.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Qualified Accountant
- Relevant previous experience at an appropriate level in the onshore or offshore construction or energy business
- Tax and legal qualifications
- Managing joint ventures
- Clear and effective communication; fluency in English is important
