Title:  Logistics Yard HSE Advisor

We are seeking a proactive and motivated site HSE Advisor to support Subsea7’s activities at the logistic base in Equatorial Guinea. Please note this role will be employed on a third party contract basis for 12 months.

 

This role is key to ensuring that Subsea7 and Contractor activities are carried out in full compliance with applicable legislation, client requirements and Subsea7 HSE standards.

 

Reporting to the Project HSSE Manager and working closely with the Subsea7 Site Representative, the Yard logistic HSE Advisor will provide day-to-day HSE support, promote a positive safety culture and drive continuous improvement in HSE performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

HSE Leadership & Support

  • Support and implement the Subsea7 Project HSSE Plan, safety initiatives/programs and HSE objectives at the fabrication yard.
  • Act as a visible HSE presence on site, engaging with supervision and workforce to promote proactive safety behaviour.
  • Provide HSE advice and support to the Subsea7 Site Representative, Project HSSE Manager, supervision and operational teams.

 

Implementation of HSE Requirements 

  • Monitor the effective implementation of Project HSE documentation, procedures and safe working practices at the Logistic yard.
  • Liaise with the Project HSE Manager to stay informed of any changes impacting HSE at the Logistic yard.
  • Develop and/or adapt HSE instructions, procedures, toolbox talk materials and other HSE tools specific to the logistic activities, where required.
  • Work in close collaboration with Contractor HSE team to ensure alignment between Subsea7 and Logistic yard HSE requirements.

 

Site Inspections & Monitoring

  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc HSE inspections and safety tours across all work areas, including subcontractor zones.
  • Ensure that identified non-conformances and unsafe conditions/behaviors are recorded, reported and followed up to closure.
  • Intervene, stop work and immediately inform the Subsea7 Site Representative Logistic base HSE Team and Project HSE Manager in case of any anomaly, violation or unsafe practice.
  • Participate in HSSE Committee meetings and contribute to action tracking and closure.

 

Risk Management & Work Preparation

  • Participate in HIRAs and site-specific TRAs/JSAs, ensuring that Logistic risks (welding, cutting, lifting, working at height, etc.) are adequately assessed and controlled.
  • Support line supervision in the preparation and review of SIMOPS-related risk controls, where applicable.

 

Meetings, Communication & Training

  • Attend and participate fully in daily coordination meetings, pre-job meetings and Toolbox Talks.
  • Contribute to HSE input to Kick-Off Meetings (KOMs) with suppliers and subcontractors as required.
  • Support the delivery of HSSE inductions, briefings and campaigns; reinforce key messages at the workface.

 

Incident Management & Reporting

  • Ensure that all anomalies, near-misses, incidents and accidents are reported, recorded in Synergi database and followed up in line with Subsea7 and Client requirements.
  • Assist in incident/accident investigations (fact finding, root cause analysis, development and follow-up of corrective actions).
  • Maintain and update required HSE indicators (KPIs) for Logistic yard activities and contribute to trend analysis and improvement actions.
  • Prepare and submit daily and weekly HSE reports to the Project HSE Manager and Subsea7 Site Representative.

 

HSE Systems & Administration

  • Use and help maintain online safety systems and tools (e.g. incident reporting, action tracking, audit/inspection records).
  • Support HSE document control at site level (procedures, risk assessments, method statements, inductions, permits, etc.).
  • Implement and follow up self-verification activities and SUWER (or equivalent) checklists, ensuring that findings are addressed.

 

Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Visible field presence and ability to engage with workforce at all levels.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to persuade and provide constructive coaching.
  • Structured, organized and thorough in reporting, follow-up and documentation.
  • Problem-solving mindset, with focus on practical, workable controls solutions.

 

Experience / Education

  • Fluency in English language is essential with Spanish language skills being highly beneficial
  • Significant demonstrable experience in a Health and Safety role
  • Professional Health and Safety qualification
  • Vocational training in high-risk work activities (e.g. lifting and hoisting activities, etc.)
