Title: Africa North & South Operations Manager

What will you be doing?
The Africa North and Africa South - Operations Manager, part of AME Operations function management, is responsible for the Operations happening within their geography. As the line manager of Project Operation Manager, in-country Operations team and Project Operation Engineer within their geography, they are accountable for the operational readiness and performance of onshore and offshore operations from tender to offshore completions.
They closely collaborate with other Operations functions such as Logistics and Vessel performance as well as being a true partner of Africa North and Africa South BU.
The Key focuses of their role are:
- Visible and authentic safety and quality leader.
- Performance driven, enhancing safe and efficient Operations.
- Promote and develop people within the operations function.
- Integration of operational requirements throughout the project cycle (Tender to completion) especially with Design and installation Engineering, Chartering, Offshore Resources and PG.
- Collaborative and proactive way of working with key stakeholders (PMT, Engineering, SCM, Offshore Resources, OMT, Pipeline Group, Chartering, 3rd Party vessels owner, local authorities).
- Drive and implement change to our Ways of Working to address CoL, Safety and Quality events.
They shall organise the operations function to ensure a high standard but fit for purpose level of preparation and the safe & efficient execution of all operations carried out within GPC East. This is done by providing Projects and Tenders teams with the necessary support, tools & resources.
They will participate coordinating of the operations activities in all GPC East offices and worksites.
They will ensure that all People working in the Operations department are behaving as safety leader anytime and at any location, and that the Subsea7 values are put forward on tenders and projects, in the office and on each worksites.
Personal & Functional Management Responsibilities:
- Display high standard of leadership, be visible and accessible.
- Establish personal relationships with Projects Manager, and be a proactive leader in the management and reduction of our CoL.
- Manage headcount and allocation of operations resources to Tender and Projects.
Process Management:
- Ensure that all required Group and GPC East processes and procedures are in place and complied with when preparing tenders or executing projects. Actively participate developing those procedures when needed.
- Ensure that each Operations personnel has an accurate knowledge of the required set of working procedures to perform her/his tasks with associated list of deliverables & clear interfaces with the rest of the organisation.
Knowledge Management:
- Maintain past project knowledge and build on lessons Learned.
- Develop required standards and department technical skills.
- Stay up to date with latest technologies, equipment, techniques, and codes/standards to maintain Subsea 7 competitiveness.
Working conditions:
Job is based in the Suresnes office with frequent travels to Africa, onshore and offshore.
What experience would we like you to have?
- 12 years minimum experience in Oil and Gas Offshore operations (SURF & Conventional).
- Strong leadership and organisational attribute, collective mindset.
- Interpersonal skills and capacity in developing working relationships.
- Proven capacity and willingness to motivate, train and develop others.
