What will you be doing?

We are looking for a Project Engineer (Installation Methods) to join our Pipeline Group (PG) team at our Suresnes, Paris office on a full-time staff basis.

 

PG supports Subsea7’s pipelay projects globally and our method engineers play an integral part in finding solutions to complex engineering problems.  Our engineers are recognized for their expertise and can oversee specific critical subjects either on business improvement, or projects.

 

Your role will incorporate the full installation process from the procedure preparation up to the following of offshore operation. You will be responsible for delivering fit for purpose rigid pipeline installation engineering on projects or tenders with specific focus on safe and cost effective installation operations, under the supervision of a lead or a senior engineer.

 

This will be a varied role but some of the main responsibilities will be:

 

  • Performs detailed feasibility studies and installation procedure, considering all associated risk and ensure that all safety rules are considered for various operations such as pipe laying, riser installation, pipeline structure in line installation.
  • Determines and optimizes operations installation times, laying methods determination (S-Lay, J-Lay, Reel-Lay).
  • Ensure the interface with analysis engineer and quality of its analyses, and the respect of the planning
  • Interfaces with associated subsea related disciplines and understands the interfaces within a project environment.
  • Provides engineering support during operations with occasional periods offshore or on yard,
  • Ensures all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed
  • Participates actively to the PG department know-how consolidation,
  • Proposes innovative solutions allowing cost & risks reduction

What experience would we like you to have?

  • You will be degree qualified in Engineering / Marine / Naval / Offshore Technology / Civil /Mechanical discipline (or equivalent)
  • You will have relevant experience as a project engineer in the energy industry, ideally withinsubsea pipeline installation, particularly in the reel lay discipline (i.e., Reel Lay, J-Lay, S-Lay)
  • You should be a clear communicator, able to speak with all levels within the business, who iscomfortable working on their own and as part of a team
  • You will have good report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accuratework, as well as the ability prioritise and organise your work accordingly to meet deadlinesset by management
  • This role may involve short spells of overseas travel so candidates may need to show awillingness and flexibility
