Long Description

Subsea7 has a new opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our team, supporting Pre-Commissioning and Remote Intervention. This is a permanent role which will ideally be based in our Paris office but is also open to applications to support from our Lisbon office.

 

We’re seeking a seasoned professional to lead operational excellence in pre-commissioning and remote intervention activities. In this pivotal role, you’ll provide expert guidance across projects and tenders, ensuring scope readiness and seamless collaboration between engineering, project operations, and offshore teams. You’ll also support the Equipment Assurance team by resolving operational queries and help shape robust assurance processes across the Africa, Middle East, Mediterranean, and Türkiye (AME) region. Your insights will be key in reviewing equipment and operational plans, driving quality and efficiency across our operations.

What will you be doing?

Technical Support and Query Resolution:

  • Support the Equipment Assurance team by answering or clarifying operational queries related to pre-commissioning and Remote Intervention subjects.

 

Subject matter expert:

  • Regular audit from Company within ROV team (IMCA) to validate Subsea7 within all company.
  • Contribute with operational lessons learnt and share these with

 

Equipment Assurance Process:

  • Performs Equipment Assurance desktop exercise for pre-commissioning and Remote Intervention equipment.
  • If necessary, prepare inspection plans & tooling tests in coordination with the Group Offshore Resources team & engineering.
  • Ensure all necessary tests (pre-mobilization and performance tests, SIT, mock-up, ROV access) and validations are conducted prior to operations, addressing any identified issues.
  • Review specific operational task plans and identify any gaps between engineering expectation and field operability.

 

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

  • Engage with key stakeholders, both in the office and on-site, to facilitate and coordinate equipment assurance process.
  • Overall single focal point for project-related pre-commissioning & Remote Intervention operational matters within Project & tender teams.
  • Deliver clear, actionable updates and recommendations to management on assurance progress and outcomes.

 

Personnel Training and Development:

  • Coordinate training providers and stakeholders to address any skill gaps for operational execution.
  • Review Pre-commissioning & Remote Intervention team man-plan with engineering & project team ahead of operations to ensure proper level of support.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence among all team members.

 

Support to tendering:

  • Actively participate in tenders’ strategy related to marine, crew and equipment assurance. Assist project Operations Manager identifying, developing actions plans and pricing any specific needs regarding future jobs.

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in offshore operations following Pre-commissioning & Remote Intervention operations.
  • Direct experience with vessels equipment audits, permanent equipment systems, and other heavy offshore machinery.
  • Prior exposure to project management or assurance roles.
  • IMCA Auditor certificate
  • Offshore Survival Training (e.g., BOSIET/FOET).
  • Chief Engineer Certificate or similar qualification.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as IMCA, OCIMF, and ISO frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and quality assurance practices.
  • Proficiency in inspection tools and software relevant to offshore assurance.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other reporting tools.
  • Understanding of condition monitoring techniques and asset management systems.
