Title: Project Manager / Associate Project Manager

Subsea7 has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager (PM) or Associate Project Manager (APM) to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role can be based in our Old Kilpatrick (Glasgow), Sutton (London), or Bois-Colombes (Paris) offices.
The Pipeline Group (PG) supports complex global pipeline projects from tender through to execution, leveraging Subsea7's spoolbases, bundle yards, and rigid pipelay vessel fleet. By integrating technical skill across pipeline production, installation engineering, and vessel management, the team delivers high-quality solutions in pipelay operations, engineering, materials, welding, coating, and lay analysis.
As a PM/APM within the Pipeline Group, you will play a key role in the effective delivery of pipeline project scopes, acting as the primary focal point between the Pipeline Group and wider project and tender teams.
You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of Pipeline Group activities, delivering against key performance targets including safety, quality, schedule, cost, resource utilisation, and production objectives. From the tender stage onwards, you will work closely with bid teams to identify, assess, and quantify project risks and opportunities, before managing performance and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle.
This role would suit a highly motivated individual who combines technical knowledge with a collaborative approach and a willingness to develop their subsea pipeline experience and project management capabilities.
To meet the needs of this role, you will bring:
- Direct experience within a subsea pipeline discipline, including pipeline fabrication and pipeline installation.
- A deep technical understanding of subsea pipeline engineering and operations.
- The ability to manage stakeholders and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Risk management and project delivery experience, ideally across tender and execution phases.
- An ability to develop and progress within a project management career path while maintaining active technical involvement.
What will you be doing?
This will be a highly varied role but some of the main responsibilities include:
- Facilitate the tender review cycle (kick off meeting, strategy review, management review and tender hand-over to regional team), co-ordinating input activities of various disciplines.
- Manage PG project start up activities agreeing responsibilities between PG and Project Team, agreeing key dates and cost budget. Identify any changes up or down from as-sold position.
- Identify team disciplines required, allocate and monitor workload ensuring activities are progressed to schedule and budget and with all safety and quality measures.
- Control and report progress of activities against the agreed budget and schedule.
- Identify changes, risks and opportunities and ensure proper management of the same, liaising with appropriate internal / external personnel.
- Plan and deliver the site and or vessel mobilisation and operation.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships Clients, Subcontractors, Suppliers, also Tendering, Commercial, Engineering, SCM, P&O, Spoolbases and Offshore Managers.

- A degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Experience within the energy sector, with exposure to subsea pipelines, pipeline fabrication, installation, or pipeline engineering activities.
- An understanding of tendering and bid processes, including the ability to define scope boundaries, assess technical requirements, and contribute to cost estimates.
- Effective verbal and written communicator, able to create, present, and share clear reports and updates with stakeholders across multiple functions.
- A forward-thinking, solution-oriented mindset, capable of identifying risks, constraints, and opportunities, and communicating potential impacts to schedule, budget, or project delivery.
- Effective planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines in a demanding work environment.
- The capacity to take initiative and take responsibility for assigned work, deliver results on time, and support broader team goals.
- Experience in streamlining project efficiency, performance, and cost optimisation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
