OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Reporting to the Regional Structures Design Discipline Manager, the Regional Structures Design Lead Engineer acts as the local office focal point for the Discipline. He/she is responsible for supporting the development of the Discipline locally in line with business needs, ensuring the technical competences required for the execution of studies, tenders and projects within their area of responsibility.

He/she is ultimately accountable for the Structural and Piping design activities delivered by the Team in charge, ensuring high‑quality engineering aligned with both commercial and technical objectives. He/she is also expected to promote and support Discipline work processes and provide technical governance on behalf of the Discipline Manager. The scope of responsibilities covers studies, tenders and live projects.

 

SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

The Regional Lead Engineer will assist the Regional Discipline Manager in several areas:
 
•    Project and Tender support
•    Review and follow projects activities for the team. Elaborate project set up with other disciplines.
•    First point of contact for technical support to project / tenders
•    Ensure Discipline project technical delivery in accordance with the requirements of the Business Management System.
•    Ensure project fit-for-purpose, legislative compliance, and adherence to project budget &schedule / perform benchmarks at project closure.
•    Review and validate project technical documents as required.
•    Be the technical focal point for the Discipline within the local office.
•    Ensure design decisions considering offshore construction feasibility, safety and cost impact.
•    Liaise with client experts, project teams and subcontractors on technical matters as needed.
•    Support with development of the discipline for better efficiency in delivery (more for less)
•    Maintain past project knowledge, discipline standards and discipline technical skills
•    Support technology developments / studies as required.
•    Stay up to date with technologies, equipment, techniques, codes and standards to maintain competitiveness.
•    Support with digitalization initiatives across Engineering.

•    Ability to lead a design team across multiple projects.
•    Ability to prioritize own and others’ workload, manage time and changes accordingly, and guide team members when constraints impact a project's schedule or budget.
•    Ability to manage interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, client and suppliers.
•    Demonstrated ability to work within time and budget constraints

Sous la responsabilité du/de la Responsable régional(e) de la discipline Conception des structures, l'Ingénieur(e) principal(e) en conception des structures est le point de contact local pour cette discipline.

Il/Elle est chargé(e) de soutenir le développement de la discipline au niveau local, en fonction des besoins de l'entreprise, et de garantir les compétences techniques nécessaires à la réalisation des études, des appels d'offres et des projets relevant de sa responsabilité. Il/Elle est responsable des activités de conception des structures et des tuyauteries réalisées par l'équipe en charge, garantissant une ingénierie de haute qualité, conforme aux objectifs commerciaux et techniques.

Il/Elle est également chargé(e) de promouvoir et de soutenir les processus de travail de la discipline et d'assurer la gouvernance technique pour le compte du Responsable régional de la discipline. Son périmètre de responsabilités couvre les études, les appels d'offres et les projets en cours.

PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITES

L'Ingénieur(e) principal(e) en conception des structures assiste le Responsable régional de la discipline dans plusieurs domaines :

  • Soutenir les projets et les appels d’offres
  • Suivre et analyser les activités des projets de l'équipe.
  • Élaborer et mettre en place des projets complexes en collaboration avec d'autres disciplines.
  • Etre le premier point de contact pour le support technique des projets et appels d'offres.
  • Garantir la livraison technique des projets de la discipline conformément aux exigences du système de gestion d'entreprise.
  • Assurer l'adéquation du projet à son objectif, sa conformité législative et le respect du budget et du calendrier / réaliser des évaluations comparatives à la clôture du projet.
  • Examiner et valider les documents techniques du projet selon les besoins.
  • Être le référent(e) technique pour la discipline au sein du bureau local.
  • Garantir que les décisions de conception tiennent compte de la faisabilité, de la sécurité et de l'impact financier de la construction en mer.
  • Assurer la liaison avec les experts du client, les équipes de projet et les sous-traitants sur les questions techniques, selon les besoins.
  • Soutenir le développement de la discipline pour une meilleure efficacité des prestations (optimiser les ressources).
  • Maintenir les connaissances acquises sur les projets antérieurs, des normes et des compétences techniques de la discipline.
  • Soutenir les études technologiques selon les besoins.
  • Veille technologique constante pour maintenir la compétitivité.
  • Soutenir les initiatives de numérisation au sein de l'ingénierie.
  • Contribuer à la gestion des connaissances et diffusion des enseignements tirés.

COMPETENCES REQUISES

  • Capacité à diriger une équipe de conception sur plusieurs projets.
  • Capacité à prioriser sa propre charge de travail et celle des autres, à gérer son temps et les changements en conséquence, et à guider les membres de l'équipe lorsque des contraintes impactent le calendrier ou le budget d'un projet.
  • Capacité à gérer les interfaces au sein de la structure d'un projet, notamment avec les autres disciplines, le bureau d'études, la gestion documentaire, la gestion de projet, le client et les fournisseurs. Aptitude démontrée à travailler dans le respect des contraintes de temps et de budget.
