Title: SCM Specialist - Level I

Overview
We are seeking a SCM Specialist - Level I, to work within our Supply Chain Management team in either our Perth, Australia or Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia offices. Reporting to the SCM Manager, the role is part of a wider team which includes other Specialists, Senior Specialists, and those with a direct focus on long-term and subcontractor agreements.
Supporting our APAC business unit, the role offers broad exposure across sourcing, supplier management, procurement and expediting activities. Specifically, the procurement of materials, rentals and services in support of offshore/onshore operations, tendering and onshore corporate functions such as Facilities, Communications and Global IT.
What will you be doing?
- Engage with stakeholders to identify current and future needs, sourcing most effective and commercially viable solutions
- Work on own initiative delivering a busy workload in support of allocated project, tender, operational base or function.
- Source competitive bids from suppliers for materials, rentals and services that meet specification, quality, budgetary and schedule requirements
- Negotiate and award commitments with suppliers ensuring that the most favourable terms of contract are obtained
- Ensure compliance with all Supply Chain policies, processes, systems and procedures.
- Develop relationships with suppliers including performing sites visits.
- Effectively utilise the SCM and company systems e.g. SAP, SAP Ariba, SharePoint and Synergi to deliver SCM activities and promote knowledge share.
- Proactively support and contribute to the continuous improvement of the SCM Department.
- Assist with any other activities that may be required for successful business delivery.
What experience would we like you to have?
- Two (2) to three (3) years demonstrable experience within Procurement or associated commercial experience.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 applications.
- SAP, SAP Ariba experience would be preferred.
- Knowledge of market/industry suppliers would be advantageous.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, maintains positive collaborative relationships at all levels across a multicultural global environment.
- Confident networking with the ability to effectively negotiate and influence.
- Numeracy skills and the ability to work with detail and accuracy.
- Comprehensive planning and organising skills, able to identify and effectively prioritise workload and effectively meet multiple, often competing deadlines.
- Flexible to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced 24/7 global business.
- Pro-active with a solutions-based approach.
- Demonstrates initiative and ownership to deliver workload unsupervised while adaptable to support wider team activities.
