Short Description
Subsea7 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Designer to join our dynamic team in Perth. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions for subsea engineering projects, supporting both front-end studies and detailed design phases. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers and project teams to develop innovative, safe, and cost-effective subsea systems.
All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.
REPORTS TO: CAD Discipline Manager
LOCATION: Perth, Australia
What will you be doing?
- Provide focal point for all project communication and activities and ensure the delivery of quality work and services in line with project plans.
- Identify and communicate project resource requirements to the Drawing Office Supervisor or Manager.
- Assess project resource requests and provide feedback on feasibility in terms of deliverables and timescales given resources available.
- Undertake checking of others work in a project or department environment.
- Independently evaluate, organise and prioritise work for self and others. Ensure project team adhere to the Business Management System (BMS) and PM7.
- Participate in technical audits of projects and studies.
- Actively participate in relevant training and development to pursue continuing professional development.
- Participate in reviews and development of departmental procedures and work methods.
- Provide input for project CTR estimates for project drafting team when required.
- Interface with project discipline leads to ensure CAD deliverable schedule is being met and budget is on track.
- Ensure project team comply with company QA and HSE procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring that design services comply with company standards and processes in line with appropriate legislation.
- Manage internal and external Drawing Office project interfaces. Assist development of standard project deliverables and efficiencies.
- Ensure adequate Drawing Office input to applicable procurement activities.
- Support induction and training programme for junior employees and new starts through mentoring.
- Support development and management of apprentice recruitment and training where applicable.
- Encourage awareness of department capabilities and competencies.
- Support development of department structure and succession planning.
- Encourage awareness and reporting of project variations amongst all department employees.
- Encourage recording of lessons learned and Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs) to assist in improved company systems and services.
- Help ensure efficiency and quality by producing drawings and sketches consistent with good engineering practice.
- Operate within standardised engineering policies, processes and systems.

What experience would we like you to have?
