Title:  Skillpool Accountant

What will you be doing?

The Skillpool Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate provision of all financial information including forecasts and budgets for the Offshore Skillpool assigned to them. This diverse and varied role provides valuable experience in, and exposure to, Skillpool accounting within a successful global organisation. 

  • Daily support to the Skillpool Lead Planner and Crewing Manager in relation to Skillpool finances.
  • Preparation of detailed monthly management reports for assigned Skillpools.  This will include variance analysis of actuals and forecasts including but not limited to Variance analysis of actuals and forecasts.
  • Identify and report variances /areas of concern to budget holder.
  • Upload and review forecast results into financial consolidation system.
  • Preparation of annual budget and calculation of white book rates (WBR) for assigned Skillpools.
  • Monthly reconciliation of offshore travel costs within the Onboard Tracker system, liaising with relevant parties both internal and external to resolve any queries identified.
  • Weekly loading of crew time into SAP and liaising with Crewing team and Projects to resolve any issues identified.
  • Assist the finance team to ensure compliance with the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
  • Other ad hoc tasks and projects as required.

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant stream (Finance/Accounting/Business).
  • Good working knowledge of SAP, Excel and other Microsoft products.
  • A good team player with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to interact with all levels in the organisation, internal and external.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving and organizational skills and can prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical skills, and an ability to work with detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Collaborative team worker who also demonstrates initiative and ownership.
  • Pro-active and solutions-based, questions and will challenge the status quo.
  • Flexible and able to meet the evolving needs of a 24/7 global business.
