Subsea7 has an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to be part of the geotechnical team, based in Stavanger. We are a multicultural and diverse team, regularly use the various FEA packages for foundation design and we work together as a team to solve problems and learn from each other. The applicant should have relevant offshore geotechnical competence. Programming skills in python or similar is not a requirement but an advantage for the position.

The tasks you will solve:
- Complete geotechnical engineering aspects of tenders, studies, and projects
- Interpret and use offshore site investigation data and be able to integrate results into parameters for detailed design of subsea infrastructure
- Undertake detailed design and installation of gravity based, piled and suction installed foundations
- Use of 2D and 3D finite element software (Plaxis and/or OptumCE)
- Carry out soil/pipeline interaction analyses
- Complete offshore trenching and rock dumping assessments
- Possibility to attend offshore trenching or rock dumping as client representative

What we want from you:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years relevant offshore geotechnical design working experience, either in oil and gas or offshore wind
- Good knowledge of codes and standards within the field of Geotechnical Engineering
- Preferable experience with programming in python or similar
- Strong analytical skills
- Creative problem solving - able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working
- Understanding of clients’ needs and ability to suggest and apply “fit for purpose” solutions
- Sound communication skills – able to communicate ideas and results to various stakeholders (both in written reports and in meetings, presentations etc.) particularly in English
- The ability to work in a team as well as individually with a minimum of supervision
