Subsea7 Norway is currently seeking a Subsea Pipeline Engineer to join the Pipeline Design discipline in Stavanger, Norway. This position will be to deliver in-place pipeline design scopes from field development concept phases through to execution, installation and commissioning. The primary delivery will be to carry out in-place design of subsea pipelines.


A suitable candidate will be required to work within a team to engineer optimised engineering solutions that are fit for purpose. Current engineering involves field developments pushing design boundaries with high temperature and high pressure wells, with exposed pipelines in areas with high fishing activity adding additional complexity and challenges.


Subsea7 is looking specifically for a Pipeline Design Engineer with at least 3 years’ experience carrying out in-place design of subsea pipelines. Such an engineer should have finite element experience in addition having knowledge of DNV-ST-F101.


Experience is relevant in the following in-place design tasks:

- Pipeline Routing and Field Layout
- Pipeline Mechanical Design
- Pipeline On-Bottom Roughness and Free Span Analysis
- In-place Design of Rigid and Flexible Flowlines
- Trawling Impact and Pull-Over Analysis
- Spool Design for Tie-in and Expansion

What we want from you:

•    Bachelor or master’s degree in relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Marine, Offshore, Naval Architecture)
•    Minimum 3 years relevant work experience with in-place design of subsea pipelines
•    Experience from execution projects including engineering of subsea pipeline systems
•    Knowledge and experience using Abaqus or Ansys
•    Programming and scripting skills (Python) is an advantage
•    Team work and Interfacing
•    Good communication and networking skills
•    Proactive and motivated
•    High integrity and strong analytical skills
