As Senior Project Surveyor, you'll work in our Stavanger office in Norway, supporting interesting and challenging projects. Applicants should demonstrate substantial experience that reflects the depth, breadth, and complexity of projects supported.
What will you be doing?
Part of an integrated project team, you'll review client requirements, develop associated methodologies, and take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the survey service to both internal and external clients. The role is part of our wider team of global survey experts. Together, and through effective collaboration, we provide projects with technical advice, geomatic and GIS services, best practice and innovative techniques.
- Provide technical and operational input throughout the SURF project lifecycle, from tender development to execution and close-out
- Liaise with internal teams, clients, and third-party providers to identify personnel, equipment, and project needs, ensuring timely delivery to worksites
- Develop and review project-specific survey procedures, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards
- Attend and lead project briefings and debriefings with survey personnel and stakeholders to ensure clarity of scope and expectations
- Manage survey deliverables, oversee third-party service providers, and ensure quality and timeliness of outputs within budget constraints
- Ensure end-of-trip reports are completed promptly, with lessons learned documented and communicated for continuous improvement
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance survey processes, workflows, and technologies to improve efficiency and data quality
- Mentor and support junior surveyors, providing technical guidance and training
What experience would we like you to have?
- Bachelor’s degree or regional equivalent in Surveying, Geomatics, Hydrography, Geophysics, or a related science discipline
- Membership in a professional survey association is beneficial
- Demonstrable role relevant experience as onshore Project Surveyor/Senior. A background in subsea survey operations is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in subsea construction operations, with a comprehensive understanding of current techniques and technologies in ROV-based positioning, measurement, and mapping
- Proficient in project planning and execution, demonstrating the ability to oversee workloads efficiently while upholding safety and quality standards
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities, both written and verbal, with a proactive and team-oriented mindset
- Proficiency in subsea survey software
