Overview

Subsea7 is looking for a motivated Senior Human Resources (HR) Advisor to join our team on full-time, permanent basis, located in our Singapore office 

 

This role will support the company HR function, providing a flexible and professional HR advisory service throughout the offshore community, predominately servicing our Global Employment Company (GEC).

 

This position will support our global marine pool, comprised of over 1000 offshore mariners and will act as the primary contact for all HR matters to that group, providing generalist human resources advice, strategies and support. This role will take responsibility for managing intricate grievances and disciplinary matters without supervision, while also ensuring seafarers adhere to the relevant maritime laws, including the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC).   

What will you be doing?

This will be a varied role and one that will adapt to the needs of the GEC as our business evolves but some of the tasks you will be involved in include:

 

  • Delivery of all HR services including compensation/remuneration, investigations, disciplinary action, grievance management, absence management, onboarding and general HR queries.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of HR Coordinators to ensure efficient, timely, accurate and cost-effective management and delivery of the function’s activities to the business and crew. 
  • Regular meetings with relevant skill pool Planner(s) to coordinate and align activities.
  • Forecast recruitment for assigned skill pools and deliver candidates in line with the Recruitment Process.
  • Manage alleged breaches of Global Substance Abuse policy in line with Company policy.
  • Regular audits of SuccessFactors information to ensure updated information.
  • Follow up on absence management with crew and recommend for salary continuation where necessary.
  • Develop a constructive and professional relationship with all stakeholders, including crewing and HR departments located in Aberdeen.
  • Support the standardisation, compliance and efficiency of functional policies, processes and
  • Prepare and review manual payroll elements including allowances and uplifts.
  • Produce payroll inputs and review monthly payroll reports to check and verify information in line with deadlines.

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Appropriate level of tertiary education at Degree level in Human Resources, Business Management, Commerce or similar. 
  • Relevant previous experience in a similar position and ability to demonstrate providing HR advice to management and employees, within a relevant industry including, but not limited to, Marine Construction, Civil Engineering, Oil and Gas sectors, Manufacturing or other heavy industries.
  • Good level of IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office and have a comprehensive understanding of Human Resources Information Systems, preferably SAP or SuccessFactors.
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and present across all levels of stakeholders both internal, including offshore crew personnel, and external,
  • High level of customer services skills and networking with an effective ability to engage at all levels of an organisation.
  • Organised, with an ability to prioritise workload during periods of high volume, as well as conflicting and changing priorities.
