Title: Senior HSE Advisor

Subsea7 has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior HSE Advisor to join our UK & Global IRM team in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada on a full-time, staff basis. As a key HSE focal point, you'll provide expert guidance to project teams, promote a strong safety culture, ensure compliance, and support the safe delivery of offshore projects.

What will you be doing?
This will be a varied role but some of the main responsibilities include:
- Act as the HSE focal point, providing expert support across projects and operations
- Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with regulatory, client, and Subsea7 HSEQ requirements
- Support project teams with risk management, HSE planning, audits, inspections, and incident investigations
- Monitor HSE performance, identify improvement opportunities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Deliver HSE training, briefings, coaching, and guidance to project and worksite personnel
- Support emergency preparedness activities and worksite readiness programmes
- Develop, maintain, and review project HSE documentation, compliance plans, and regulatory registers
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, regulators, and internal stakeholders on HSE matters
- Support environmental management activities, including environmental compliance and hazardous substance controls
- Contribute to tender activities, supplier assessments, and the successful delivery of offshore projects
What experience would we like you to have?

- Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Professional membership or certification (CRSP, CHSC, CMIOSH, or equivalent) is desirable
- Experience supporting offshore energy, marine, subsea, or vessel operations
- Good knowledge of Canadian offshore HSE regulations and compliance requirements
- Lead Auditor qualification with experience of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems
- Knowledge of vessel assurance, audits, contractor management, and regulatory compliance programmes
- Good understanding of HSE legislation and offshore operations
- Good communication skills with the ability to influence and present at all levels
- Proactive, solutions-focused, and highly organised, with good attention to detail
- Collaborative team player with a flexible approach and a passion for HSE excellence
