Office based in Zoetermeer, Netherlands, you’ll form part of an integrated project team. You'll review client requirements, develop associated methodologies, and take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the survey service to both internal and external clients.
The role is part of our wider team of global survey experts who, collaboratively, provide projects with technical advice, geomatic and GIS services, best practice and innovative techniques.
Your assigned projects will be for Seaway7’s Offshore Renewables work. Seaway7, part of the Subsea7 Group, supports developers to bring sustainable, renewable energy to the world through the construction of offshore wind farms, contributing to an efficient and sustainable energy supply for the future.
What will you be doing?
Primarily supporting the Seaway7 Foundation Installation Delivery (FID) team the successful candidate will provide technical expertise and support in the definition and supply of survey related requirements to tenders, projects and operations performed related to foundation installation and associated heavy lift operations.
Periodically you may be assigned to support other areas of Seaway7 and Subsea7’s operations which may include projects across submarine power cable installation, SURF and IRM.
You will work as part of an integrated project team to review client requirements, develop associated methodologies, procedures and budgets and facilitate between internal functions and external suppliers to deliver the required services.
- Provide survey support to Seaway7 renewables projects throughout the project life cycle.
- Ensure that all Survey related activities are undertaken in accordance with Subsea7 HSEQ procedures.
- Provide technical and commercial input to tenders.
- Develop project procedures and quality plans in alignment with Subsea7 processes.
- Ensure that offshore personnel requirements are identified and communicated in a timely manner to the Survey Operations Manager and survey Offshore Crewing & Logistics team.
- Identify required equipment and communicate these requirements to the internal survey engineering support group to ensure timely delivery of equipment to worksites.
- Support project during Client meetings.
- Attend onshore calibrations, SIT/FAT, at various locations and worksites as required.
- Manage and lead 3rd party service providers ensuring that the services are provided in line with agreed specification and internal standards.
- Undertake project briefings/ debriefings during periods of vessel mobilisation / demobilisation with key survey personnel / other project personnel.
- Act as liaison on behalf of project both with internal and external interfaces.
- Ensure that projects are closed out in a timely manner with lessons learned being captured and communicated.
- Ensure final client deliverables are of suitable quality and delivered on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with other Project Survey Support and Engineering personnel as required.
- Any other duties as directed.
What experience would we like you to have?
- A degree in a Survey related science subject or professional association is preferred.
- Demonstrable experience in an offshore and/or onshore survey position in the offshore energy industry is essential, preferably in the Offshore Renewables and Heavy Lift industry.
- A high level of knowledge and understanding of current offshore Renewables/Heavy Lift/Construction survey techniques and technologies, and best practice.
- Ideally additional experience in an onshore survey project support role
- High level of competence with standard business applications such as Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Strong English language skills in both written and verbal communication.
- Familiar with EIVA survey acquisition and post processing software (e.g. NaviPac, NaviModel) or other similar hydrographic survey software suites.
- Proficiency in use of CAD and ESRI GIS packages preferred but not mandatory.
- Effective team working skills are essential together with a high degree of self-motivation.
