HR Advisor

BUSINESS UNIT: Subsea 7 AMEC

REPORTS TO: HR Manager

OFFICE LOCATION: Luanda – Angola

Within Africa, Middle East & Caspian region (AMEC), we safely execute Subsea and Conventional projects which connect seabed wellhead infrastructures to surface facilities such as platforms and floating production systems. We are actively present in a significant number of countries in Africa, Europe, Caspian Sea, Middle East and Asia.

DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION

Subsea 7 is looking for an HR Advisor for its Luanda office, in Angola, to provide day to day HR Generalist advice and administrative support. The HR Advisor must be able to deliver a HR service in line with HR policies, processes, systems and relevant local legislation, as well as in line with Subsea7 Luanda business goals and strategies. This position will report to the HR Manager.

This is an operational HR generalist role where the incumbent will provide advice on L&D, Recruitment, Employee Services and Comp & Ben administration and expatriates management admin.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSSE culture within at the work site and ensure familiarity with, and adherence to, local HSE requirements.

All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity and ensure familiarity with, and adherence to, the Subsea 7 Code of Conduct.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all HR Administration activities including the maintenance of HR records in both electronic and paper-based systems in an accurate and timely manner
  • Responsible for the efficient, timely, accurate and cost-effective management and delivery of the function's activities within the designated area of responsibility, considering local employment legislation
  • Responsible for processing and providing support on employees’ visa/work permit application, medical examination, client requirements, expenses claims, etc.
  • Engage in full cycle recruitment and selection, providing guidance to get qualified candidates and ensuring that the employment documents are processed according to requirements
  • Supports the implementation, standardisation, compliance and efficiency of HR policies, processes, procedures and systems across Subsea 7 Luanda
  • Supports Angola and the regional HR plan and strategy
  • Monitor forecast demand for Local onshore/offshore personnel considering the Local content requirement coming from Project and Tender.
  • Ensures that all personnel records for the local content crew are kept up to date and retained electronically in our system wherever possible. 

Experience & Competencies:

  • Demonstrable 3 years experience within an HR role. Experience in O&G industry is a plus.
  • Degree Qualified or equivalent in a relevant area (Human Resources/ Business Administration or equivalent)
  • Good knowledge of Employment Law, legislation & trends in Angola
  • Worked with submission of Contrato Programa
  • Experience with local agencies and government local labour entities is a plus
  • Good working knowledge of HR best practice and processes
  • Able to communicate effectively and comfortably at all levels with a pleasant and articulate manner both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to run induction and awareness sessions where necessary with good engaging presentation skills
  • Familiar with competency based interviewing
  • Ability to adapt to new ideas and embrace new ways of working with sound common sense and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of HR tools and processes.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese both oral and written
  • Proficient in MS office Suite
